No New Posts AWAY BOARD

Since Esseria requires active members in order to thrive, we hope you stick around all day every day, but we know that can't be the case. So if you are planning on being away for a while, just let us know. We'd appreciate the notice even if it's a weekend vacation. Also note that if you're MIA for longer than two weeks without notice, and you hold a major site position, you risk losing your title, so please make a point to stop by and let us know.

AVERICE

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts AVERICE KINGDOM

The Averice Kingdom is generally referred to as the north-western region of the island. This portion is generally flat and rolling with lush grasses. The mountains to the west are, however, a bright contrast from the rest of the region. Their snowy tops are a constant shine upon the kingdom, and by all means the highest part of the area. The great lake also expands across the plains, and also introduces the sand of the famous northern beach making up the entire northern border of Averice. This place is truly beautiful!

THAENTOS

No New Posts THAENTOS KINGDOM

The Thaentos Kingdom is located toward the north-easterd portion of the island, where the forests begin to dominate most of the land. Rivers and streams peel their ways through the thick brush of the forests and rainforests, and random clearings throughout the thick lands provide a beautiful escape from the trees. The north of Thaentos is consumed in grasslands that stretch from Averice into Thaentos territory. The land of Thaentos is extremely beautiful and a quite different environment from other locations in Esseria. It is most definitely a maze of trees, making for a private and comfortable place for its inhabitants.

VIRENZA

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts VIRENZA MOUNTAINS

The kingdom of Virenza is famous for its amazing mountainous scenery, as the entire kingdom is surrounded by mountains on three of four sides. Most of the mountains are inaccessible due to their horrid slick faces, but one portion of the north-west mountains is inhabited. The mountain's surface is littered with trees, and the ground is soft with plenty of moisture. Streams of all sorts trinkle down the slopes, creating in some places small waterfalls and pools. The water is always crystal clear, due to the fact that most of the stream beds are rock rather than dirt. Though beautiful, the mountains can be dangerous to those that are new to the terrain.

No New Posts THE DESERT

The desert is a vast expanse of orange sand, littered with the painful pricks of cacti and haunting temperature changes. The Virenza mountains wrap around the entire perimeter of Virenza, leaving only a gap for passing through. The mountains are lush and green, but the desert became thirsty after years of having its rain stolen by the mountains. The days here are hot and dry, and only the toughest of equine have what it takes to pass through. The nights, however, are owned by the cold. Blistering heat drops to temperatures below freezing within hours, but nothing ever turns to frost due to the lack of moisture. The desert makes passing to and from Virenza difficult, but it does offer refuge for the weak where the mountains touch ground. Caves are scattered throughout the land with tiny springs of water creating pools in the deepest parts of the mountain, making it possible for equine to thrive here in the harshest environment.

No New Posts THE EVERGREENS

The evergreens are located just at the base of the southern mountains, stretching to nearly halfway across to the northern mountains. This forest is thick, and the floor is littered with layers of pinestraw. The trees consist mainly of massive pines, having never been harvested by humans. The evergreens seem very clean and organized, for lack of better terms. There is not much undergrowth aside from grasses and some brush, so the land is very easy to navigate. It is, however, quite beautiful and alive with life. The land rolls easily over the hills and other various surface imperfections, but the ground is not rough like the mountains. It is a relatively safe part of Virenza, as far as terrain is concerned, and streams from the mountains provide the evergreens with a constant water supply.

No New Posts VALLEY OF VIRENZA

The valley of Virenza is lush with green, thick grasses stretching miles from the evergreens to the nothern Virenza mountains. The evergreens and valley meet where the trees form a solid line and simply stop, so traveling between the two lands is relatively common to the equine. The valley, because of its flat and smooth terrain, is a common place for the equine to rest when foaling, as the mountains are sometimes too harsh and sometimes cause fatal accidents. However, the vast open leaves room for mistake, as well, for predators are known to hunt these lands. The valley has no main water source aside from perhaps flooded parts of the plain, but surrounding lands offer plenty of options for a thirsty equine. On the other hand, many equine enjoy grazing in the open fields, as the grasses are lush and plentiful.

No New Posts THE SPRINGS

Like all rocky terrains, it is not difficult to come across a beautifully clear stream falling from the mountaintops; however, the springs offer something completely different - and potentionally dangerous. The springs are located in the southern portion of the mountains, where the elevation is lowest of all other parts of the mountains. These waters are naturally hot with potential to reach boiling temperaturs. Equine sometimes enjoy to relax in the warm waters, but the springs must be used with extreme caution. The soil in some places is known to be loose and unsturdy, sometimes sinking unexpecting visitors into an unescapable situation. The ground in most parts of the springs, however, is relatively solid, if not stone. If caution is used, the springs can be a very beautiful and enjoyable place of interest.

KAVELOR

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts THE MARSHES

Hidden within a maze of waterways and mountainous terrain, the path to Kavelor is quite difficult to find. The marshes are the first lands of Kavelor, where the four kingdom rulers thrive. This place is very dangerous, and equine find it extremely hard to navigate even when familiar with the territory. The land is soft with constantly being flooded with water, and one wrong step can leave a creature sinking in the silt. Most equine are afraid to wander into the marshes or the rest of Kavelor in fear of the land and its rulers, but still others venture here openly, perhaps attracted by the harsh terrain and challenge of hostile environments. But beware - the kingdom of Kavelor is not very welcoming to strangers.

No New Posts THE DEAD WOOD

If one manages to get across the marshes, the next land in Kavelor is the Dead Wood, otherwise known for its dense population of dead trees. For reasons unknown, the wood catches fire quite often - at least every two to three years. Though the Dead Wood does, in fact, have live trees, there are sections that are strictly dead standing trees. New life does eventually grow - and quite quickly due to the rich soil here. However, the fires keep life here generally low, and while dead trees are replaced with living ones, fires are also killing living sections of the wood to keep a relatively equal balance.

No New Posts SOUTH BEACH

The third land of Kavelor is South Beach, which would sound as if paradise here in Kavelor. However, the beaches here are hot and dry, affected indirectly by the fires of the Dead Wood. Though humid in the air, the ground is constantly dry - taking on a somewhat desert appearance. Of course, there is vegetation here. Palm trees are scattered across the terrain, and the ground consist of a large percentage of black rock. However, there is one outstanding feature here. The ocean remains shallow for two to three miles in the bay area, making it possible to walk to island just off the coast. The water here is gorgeous, and the shallows are an interesting place to enjoy.

No New Posts LOST ISLAND

This island is just off the coast of the main island, but is still considered a part of Kavelor due to the shallows connecting Lost Island to South Beach. The shallows make it possible for equine to walk here, and the island itself is truly beautiful. The shallows first touch the beaches of the island, where tropics are evident by the many ferns and palm trees scattered about. The beaches quickly merge to rain forest, and behind the rainforest a small group of mountains gives light to a massive cave big enough to house a number of equine at once. The cave, however, is hidden by a beautiful waterfall, and is the landmark of this beautiful island.
