THE JOB DESK_____________________________________________
--> Want to help the site out, but don't have enough time to dedicate to being part of the administration? We've got the perfect job for you! Look through these jobs at the job market and see what you think you'd be good at. It's a job, so make sure you do what you're required, but it's a less demanding part of the staff that allows you to help out according to your time and/or skills. You can take on as many jobs as you'd like, but becoming inactive will result in your losing your job.
--> Do not apply for an administration job if you are unsure whether you can take on the responsibility. If in doubt, you can start off small and work your way up to what you're comfortable with. The higher up on the administration scale you get, the more demanding the job will be.
THE JOB MARKET__________________________________________
ADVERTISEMENT; These staff members concentrate on advertisement. Whatever free time they have is spent on advertising the site. It's a very important job, and the site depends on these staffers to keep active members coming in. Without these staffers, the site could potentially die. We need hard working, dedicated members to constantly advertise in order for the site to be a success. Advertisers are required to advertise at least once a day. We understand that you may not have time every single day. To make things easier, as long as you advertise a minimum of seven times a week, even if all in the same day, that's fine with us. Want to do more? Awesome! We'd love that!
FOAL STATTERS; This job is pretty self-explained. Staffers that are foal statters go through the foal board and give all the foal stats to the couples in need. If you become a foal statter, staff will give you further information on how to fairly give foal stats. All specifics will be at random, but you can be creative on description, as long as it's realistic. However, we aren't going to be a stickler on real life genetics. As long as we don't have pink horses or zebras running around, it's fine.
BIOGRAPHERS; These staffers simply go through new characters to make sure they meet the requirements of the biographies. Members do not need to be accepted in order to post their new characters, but they must create their characters accordingly. If there's a problem with a bio, these staffers will contact the member to ask them to fix the problem. Once the problem's been fixed, or if there's no problem at all, biographers must then move the bio to the 'accepted bios' board.
HERD ORGANIZERS; These staff members deal with the herds. They frequently go through the herd threads and accept/decline any new herds that members wish to make. A herd obviously cannot be accepted if there are restrictions on new herds, the form is not correctly complete, or the stallion is not eligible. Otherwise, they can be accepted. Also, if herds become inactive, the herd's thread can be moved to the inactive herds board, where the herd will 'cease to exist' until the lead stallion can become active again. It is very important for the herds to stay organized, as this gives members a reliable list of herds for their characters to join.
TRAIT ORGANIZERS; Now, these are very important. Whenever a new character is made or bred, they inherit a single trait from their parents. There will be a hidden list of traits in the staff board. Since no one is supposed to know what their trait is, it is up to you to organized these characters by their traits, so that whenever they need them for breeding, staff know where to find them. However, members can NEVER see this list. They must never know the trait of any of their characters, for that will lead to unfair breeding advantages. So keep this in mind. As for staff, I guess you're just lucky to know! But no cheating, please. This is a big part of the site, and I will not tolerate it.
SIDE-BAR/WELCOME TABLE UPDATERS; Well, someone needs to update the side-bar and welcome table when they seem to be slacking! I will try to do this a lot at first, but once things go to speed I'll be leaving most of the work to you guys. Whenever you see that the month needs changing, etc.. just go ahead and update it, please? This is a very low-maintenance job, but it is required for the site. And please don't change the format. I'll change it if I don't like it, but otherwise just leave it be.
DESIGNERS; Yaay, I know a lot of people should be interested in this one! Designers can make graphics or layouts for the site! This does not include the studio portion of the site, btw. That's optional for any member. But you can do both if that suits you. Administrators may ask the designers to make graphics as they see fit, and you may also through out graphic ideas. Say you have a good idea for pictures that the admins like, they may adopt your ideas and ask you to put that into effect. Or, if you're bored, you can create layouts (always using an example forum, of course. Never the real site). If staff like the layout, AND if we are due for a new one (because they might say no because the current one hasn't been up long) they may accept your ideas, or even save it for later. We'd always appreciate new designs. But try to keep the coding correct and don't change anything drastically. No bright colors, eye-popping blindness, out-of-date designs, please. Keep it organized and neutral. However, as a designer, just realize that all work is optional (unless you've agreed to something administration has asked) and your ideas may not be accepted over what we have. Please don't take it personal.
WELCOMING COMMITTEE; It's always nice to feel welcomed to a new site, isn't it? These staffers take a little time to introduce as many new faces as they can. This gives new members a chance to ask questions and get to know other members, so it's really important. This is usually done over PM.
THE SITE MODERATION____________________________________
MODERATORS; Once becoming a moderator, you will be assigned a particular section of the site. I may have more than one person to each section, but it is especially important for each moderator to be extremely on top of things no matter what. What you will do is moderate your specific boards, checking that members follow the rules and what-not. Easy sections will have more boards and a broader area, while more difficult or tedious sections of the site may be more concentrated. It really depends on what you're assigned. For example, free roaming areas are less demanding than, say, the bio board, where things must constantly be scanned and routinely maintenanced. So someone with roaming boards may have 5 different boards, while the mod with the bio board may only have 1 or 2. They may also, within their sections, help other staffers with more specific jobs.
MANAGERS; Managers are a more administrative portion of the staff. They are a step up from moderators. The managers are assigned a group of moderators that they oversee. It's not as if you're "in charge" of them, but you make sure the moderators are active and such. It is your responsibility, as a manager, to stay in contact with each of the moderators, as well as staff members with jobs in your section. If you find one of your moderators is inactive and doesn't do their job, you can report this to a global mod and they will replace them with a new, active staff member that will do the work required. Managers also do the same job the moderators do. They will be assigned a section of the site to work with, and they pretty much just go through and make sure the rules are being followed.
GLOBAL MODS; These staffers are a step-up from the managers. They get a bigger portion of the site to over-see. They oversee a group of managers, which means that indirectly they have an even bigger group of moderators. Don't get carried away and think you control everyone in the group, but you do have a pretty good say. You have the power to replace inactive staffers with active ones, but only in your assigned section of the site. If you become inactive at any point, as being a global mod is a very pressured and important staff role, administration can and will replace you with a more dedicated staffer. If you think this role is too much, you are free to pick another staff position less demanding.
ADMINISTRATION; This is a very defined part of the staff. These are the top dogs. They, unlike other administration positions, are not assigned a particular portion of the site. Instead, they moderate the entire site, but they rely on managers and global mods to make sure everything is running smoothly. Without managers and global mods, it would be very difficult for administration to see who is active and doing their part, and who's slacking. Administration has the final say over anyone on the site, and their word is law. The only person that has say over them is me, but I will only step in if absolutely necessary.
APPLY FOR A JOB__________________________________________
Found something - or a few things - you're interested in? Well.. apply! Before you apply, however, please be sure that you have the time to dedicate to becoming a part of Esseria's staff! And also remember.. you can have as many jobs as you'd like, but you can only obtain one moderation position (this includes moderators, managers, global mods, and admins).
We Do Not Need: Managers Global Moderators Administrators
Use this form to apply for a staff position, and PM the completed form to an administrator to be considered for the job. Do not apply for jobs we don't need, as there's no chance in getting these. Promotions are always available to good staffers, so if you want to start small and work your way up, that's perfectly fine!

Your Name: Toruk
When Did You Join Esseria?: January 2011, 20
Position Of Interest?: Moderator Biographer Trait Organizer
Why Do You Want This Job?: Moderator- I've had experience (I am a mini-mod on Wild Equines) of this job and I know how to maintain it and my work without being unfair or unkind to anyone. Biographer- Can easily help out the site by applying for this part Trait Organizer- What can I say? I like knowing things, it's just part of my personality. I'd love to be able to help out around here whilst being fair (whether I know my characters 'trait' or not matters not to me, as when it comes to breeding, I don't care who breeds to whom, so I would not take advantage of this).
Why Do You Think You Deserve This Job?: Moderator- I'm a fair player and I am a ray of sunshine on the best of days. I never try to bring anyone down, and I never give negative comments to anyone. I take my work serious. Biographer- I can easily read over and accept the bio's of characters, I actually enjoy doing it. Trait Organizer- I'd love to be of help doing these, and organizing is a big part of any site, job, business. I'd enjoy partaking in this job.
How Much Time Can You Dedicate To Esseria?: I'm on the computer all the time, I can pop on every day.
